Sam Cotton is Head of Retail Leasing for Battersea Power Station, one of the highest profile mixed use developments in Europe. Seeking inspiration from around the world, Sam spends much of his time working to understand the consumer behaviours of the future and how this impacts the retail and lifestyle sector. Using this knowledge, he is currently focused on formulating an innovative, world class retail environment for London’s iconic Battersea Power Station. Prior to this, Sam was Senior Asset Manager at Capco, tasked with re-shaping the retail and leisure spaces of the world famous Covent Garden Estate in Central London into an international visitor destination. Before turning his hands to Covent Garden, Sam worked for TH Real Estate influencing the retail and leisure strategy across their pan-European portfolio.


About Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station is at the heart of one of central London’s largest, most visionary new developments, which will see this vast 42 acre former industrial brownfield site on which it stands transformed into a vibrant new district comprising of shops, restaurants, offices, homes, events space, public space and a new Zone 1 Underground Station. Not only will this globally recognised Grade II* listed landmark be restored to its former glory, it is also set to become London’s newest retail and leisure destination that will house the best and brightest collection of British and international brands. These brands will sit next door to Apple, which has already pre-let 500,000 sq ft of offices within the building, and exciting new event spaces and visitor attractions. Millions of people from all over the world are anticipated to visit this icon once it opens in 2021.

This £9 billion regeneration project, owned by a consortium of Malaysian shareholders, consists of eight phases overall and is due for completion in 2028. The first phase of the development, Circus West Village, was completed in 2017 and is already becoming one of the capital’s liveliest neighbourhoods which is now home to over a thousand residents and a number of shops and restaurants.
